Oh it's so hot in here. And today you're going to learn how to say that in Spanish. Okay, so let's talk about the word hot in Spanish which has many equivalents, okay? So in English when you say “my soup is very hot”, it could be like it's hot like the temperature is hot or is it spicy right when you ask about “Do you have some hot sauce?” Okay, but when you say, it's very hot in here, okay, or I am hot .
Okay, or I met this woman or I met this man, and he's very hot or she's very hot, okay? So you're going to learn how to say that in Spanish. Okay, well first one, hot. Which means picante, but in Spanish, it's more like spicy when you say, “do you have hot sauce?”, maybe you can say “do you have spicy sauce?”, right because that's the equivalent, picante. Hot sauce is salsa picante Salsa picante, hot sauce, okay? .
Second, calor, “I am hot”. Tengo color, I am hot, okay. Or, it's hot in here, hace calor. Tengo calor, I am hot And hace calor, it is hot, okay? Third, “my coffee is hot”, “my coffee is very hot”, “my tea is very hot”, how do you say that? Mi té té está .
Caliente caliente Mi té café, café (coffee) está caliente. Right? got it? Fourth one. “I met this man, and he's very hot” or “I met this woman, and she's very hot.” So how do you say that in Spanish? You can say “guapa” Ella está guapa, o muy guapa, okay? O el. .
El está guapo o ella está guapa She's hot, he's hot, right? You can just say, you're walking around and you say “wow qué guapa” Qué guapa Or I'm like walking around last time and I see this man and I said “wow qué guapo” Qué guapo Now, two important things here to remember and don't forget once you hear them, okay? .
You don't say “estoy caliente” Unless you are but, I mean it means like “I'm horny”. A lot of people, a lot of my students make that mistake and say “oh estoy caliente” No, no estas caliente, tienes calor. Tengo calor. “I am hot”, it means “I am hot”, tengo calor, but not “estoy caliente”. Now, there's one like one way you can use that sentence, if you have fever, and you touch yourself. Estoy caliente, that means you have fever. Otherwise you mean that your horny or or something like that, you might not want to say that, right? This is very important, you say “tengo calor”. .
But my coffee or my tea, “está caliente”. Mi té o mi café está caliente. There's a couple of things to remember here too, right, so this is like noun, you know what a noun is? Well you don't have to know but, it's like thing, right, like calor, it's like a general thing, hace calor You're talking about the weather But this is like more an adjective. It is describing something, it is describing something else. Like for example here, mi café está (is) hot (caliente) Okay, you're describing the temperature of your coffee or of your tea. .
Right, do you understand that I hope you understand it? Tengo calor, o mi café está caliente. Mi sopa está caliente, okay, but I want some hot sauce, salsa picante. O She's hot, Ella está guapa. El está guapo Okay, well. I hope you won't make that mistake, the mistake I talked about anymore. I hope you memorize this, learn it, use it appropriately, and I'll see you in my next lesson.
