Hola welcome to butterfly Spanish me llamo Ana and in today's lesson I'm going to teach you the difference between por and para two words that you've bin asking me about, a lot and vary different suggestion #1, there are many rules for these two words that are written in many books and many many websites. And in many news papers and many magazines about language. You just have to go and memorize them .

Hahaha, if it was that easy right? So here I'm going to teach you the most useful rules. Because, some of the rules are. ok, whatever I can just changes it for a different word I dont have to wory about para and por. so I'm going to teach you hoy. the most common rules that apply to these trick Spanish words por and para I'm going to start with por not because I like por more or because I'm giving favoritism. but because it's long, it has more rules and it has more uses where as para hmm it has along like 4 or 5 we can go through it faster. .

So were going to start with it mas complicado and were going to go to the mas facil and maybe if you behave in this class at the end I'm going to sing some songs for you that use a lot por and para and some romantic songs. vary good, lets start por and para first group, primer motion or approximate location, okay so you can see that in a book for Spanish language but I'm going to teach you as motion and location is one of the most common reasons for por for example when I say umm, through. along by or around in English .

Most likely it's going to be translatable as por for insistence, por ejemple when you are on your car, you are driving. or your on the bus, or your on the train not when your on the airplane cuz then your gona say Ana por las nubes, I'm around the clouds you can say that too, but if you are in thous *Ana struggling with words* sobjesct, objects of movement inside and someone calls you on your phone and they ask you 'where are you?' Ok? well to give your location. and you don't want to say estoy because that would be the verb to apply you want to use Por .

Because you don't know exactly, your not going to give an exact location cuz your moving right? your going to say voy por, I'm around, voy por so you can say for example, ah, your diving and driving *Car noises* voy por la calle whales o la calle… um king or la calle, whatever the name the calle is, voy por la calle bla bla voy por la avenida la bla now, maybe you want to say something that's a reference with the person your speaking to. voy por la glorieta the glorieta is like a-around .

Like when your surrounded usually sometimes it has wider or in Mexico city for example, you going crossing one of the main avenues la avenida la forma your going to see a lot of monuments. your gona pass a lot of monuments and theirs like a turn like a round about. glorieta. so you can say voy por la glorieta del monumento la (…?) your gona give the name of that spot your just passing by vary good. when you are are explaining that, when you giving your approximate location. approximate because you not right there. .

Standing, your on your way your on your way some, on your way somewhere. you just passing that location. your going to use the word por voy por la calle voy por la avenida voy por ~aaa el campo de futbol voy por el estario for example when I went to university I had to cross the soccer field. which was the biggest soccer field, not cross the soccer field went around like in the (..?) so I was like voy por el estario. .

I'm almost there, casi llego, ya casi llego. so I'm giving an approximate location. an aproxamit like um. Im going to, I'm going along this avenue I'm going by this soccer field, whatever your gona us a por. vary good now, uh, for example you can also say pase por. when they tell you, when they told you this la, this morning, for example I saw on the newspaper that um, some news abomarosa and I remembered that highway, la abomarosa it's a town .
