Huawei P40 Pro Plus vs Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra! | VERSUS

hi there my name is sam from versus.com and welcome to the new comparison video between the huawei p40 pro plus and the samsung galaxy s20 ultra it's a comparison between two high-end android devices let's find out which one is .

Actually better let's start straight away with our review let the facts speak display the p40 pro plus has a 6.58 inch display with a 1200p resolution the very accurate colors are created by an oled screen that 6.58 inch display therefore measures 16.7 centimeter diagonally with a pixel density of 441 ppi .

The huawei p40 pro plus has a refresh rate of 90 hertz the galaxy s20 ultra has a 6.9 inch display with a 1440p resolution it is fitted with an old screen which also does a fantastic job the s20 ultra's display measures 17.44 centimeter diagonally with a pixel density of 511 ppi .

The s20 ultra has the 2020 must-have feature of an impressive 120 hertz refresh rate which creates very fluid pictures comparing the displays and choosing a winner wasn't difficult for us both phones have similar big screens the p40 pro plus is slightly smaller and like i already said .

The corners are too round for our taste the samsung scores with a higher pixel density and resolution the p40 pro plus also loses out in terms of refresh rate therefore the clear winner of this category is the samsung galaxy s20 ultra performance the huawei p40 pro plus has .

512 gigabyte internal storage capacity and is equipped with an in-house produced huawei kirin 995 g-ship with two times 2.86 gigahertz and two times two point three six gigahertz and four times one point nine five gigahertz and has eight gigabyte ram .

The storage capacity can be expanded by up to 256 gigabytes the galaxy s20 ultra model that we use in this comparison has a samsung exynos 990 chip with a 2 times 2.7 gigahertz and the 4 times 2.4 gigahertz and the 2 times 1.95 gigahertz for silent performance keep in mind that this is the european .

Version the s20 ultra version which is sold in the usa china and south korea has also the snapdragon 865 built in this phone has 12 gigabyte ram with 128 gigabyte internal storage capacity there's also a 16 gigabyte ram model with 512 gigabyte internal storage capacity on the market .

Its dodge capacity can typically be expanded by up to one terabyte the samsung galaxy s20 ultra seems stronger than its competitor let's find out if that's really the case with the antutu benchmark test the antutu benchmark is benchmarking the performance of both phones the tests are divided into three phases .

A performance test of the ram a test of how the device is handling two-dimensional graphics and an endurance test of how the device is handling 3d graphics the benchmark test decides that the samsung was once again the clearer .

Camera okay let's start camera the p40 pro plus has five main cameras the auto ride with 40 megapixel the ultravision with 50 megapixel two telephoto with three and ten volt optical zoom and eight megapixel each and a 3d vision camera you can find two front cameras in the upper left corner of the screen .

The first one has a 32 megapixel resolution and the other one is an ir death version camera the huawei p40 pro plus camera system was co-engineered with leica and it's a beast when it comes to taking good pictures it also records 4k videos at a maximum of 60 frames per second it also has image stabilization for .

Video the s20 ultra has also four main cameras ultra ride wide angle telephoto and death vision the cameras have a resolution of 108 megapixel 12 megapixel and 48 megapixel the front camera's resolution is 40 megapixel the samsung galaxy s20 also records 8k videos at a maximum of 24 frames per .

Second and of course it has image stabilization for video 2. so much for the specs let's check out which camera system actually takes the best pictures our first review is how the camera takes daytime pictures both phones to greedy shot pictures and the color raining was also good we gotta .

Say huawei's camera system is outstanding it definitely took better pictures than the s20 ultra the p40 pro plus has a three-fold and a 10-volt optical and a 100 volt digital zoom feature the s70 also has a 10 volt optical and a 100 volt digital zoom but once again all the way zoomed in no photo taken .

With either of the phones look good huawei still look a little bit better the samsung supports slow motion videos with 240 frames per second in full hd and 960 frames per second in hd which is crazy but huawei stepped up the game in our death we thought we made a mistake because the slow motion feature in .

Huawei's p40 pro plus is just ridiculous ridiculously slow 960 frames in full hd and up to 7680 frames per second in hd the video we took literally stood still the samsung galaxy took really great pictures but huawei perform its rival in this one therefore the point goes to the p40 pro plus i actually would love to give it two .

Points for that design the huawei p40 pro plus has a clean design with a glossy finish the five camera system is well positioned on the upper left corner on the back of the phone the camera bump is pretty big and it sticks out a lot the smartphone weighs 2.9 gram it's roughly 15.82 centimeter .

Long 7.26 centimeter wide and 0.89 centimeter deep it has a usbc connector and thanks to an ip68 rating it's water and dust resistant the p40 pro plus uses face recognition technology and a fingerprint scanner which is built onto the screen to unlock the phone .

The face recognition technology works perfect at daylight and also good on a weak light environment samsung uses a very elegant glossy finish for its galaxy s20 ultra the quad camera system is also well positioned on the upper left corner on the back of the phone but has the same problem as its competitor .

It just sticks out a lot that is something we still don't really like the smartphone weighs 220 gram it's roughly 16.69 centimeter long 7.6 centimeter wide and 0.88 centimeter deep it has a usbc connector the ip68 rating makes it also water and dust resistant the s20 ultra the same as the p40 pro .

Plus uses face recognition technology and a fingerprint scanner which is built into the screen to unlock the phone we think when you look at the back of both phones at first sight they look pretty similar but when you look closer we think huawei did a better job the camera system looks .

Better and the bump even though it sticks out on both phones has a more fluid design which makes it prettier anyways both smartphones are similar thick but the huawei seems somehow thicker than the samsung one thing that we also notice on the p40 pro plus is that the corners of the .

Screen look way too round overall we decided to give the point in this category to samsung its design was more appealing to us what do you think do you prefer huawei's design or that of the s20 ultra be sure to post your comments we'd love to hear what you think .

Battery the p40 pro plus when fully charged has 4 200 milliamp hours the samsung web fully charged has 5000 hours in terms of capacity the samsung should last longer we will see whether that's really the case in our day-to-day usage test due to the larger battery the s20 ultra .

Wins in this comparison the p40 pro plus comes just a little bit behind the samsung this point goes therefore to the s20 because once again longer screen time and everyday usage is the most crucial issue with normal use both phones lasted easily an entire day without any problems .

conclusion ok it's time to count the points and choose a winner let's see which phone took the lead in this comparison it was close but the samsung galaxy s2 and the ultra scores in terms of design we like the whole appearance more the s20 ultra also wins in terms of display .

120 hertz refresh rate and the biggest screen made this possible same in terms of performance the s when the altar was way stronger than its rival a really big point for the camera goes to the huawei it outperformed the galaxy easily the finer point for the battery life .

Also goes to the galaxy s20 ultra because it lasts a little bit longer than its competitor the samsung galaxy s20 ultra is therefore the clear winner of this comparison it wins four out of five categories but there's one more thing to say about the huawei it uses android but doesn't .

Have the google play store which was really bothering us because to get the usual apps you have to find a workaround we gotta say if they don't find a solution for that we actually wouldn't recommend buying this phone if you'd like to see more than these five categories feel free to follow the link here .
